Please measure your dog as in the diagram below to determine the size of the travel crate you will require

There are two crate options to choose from each with their own pros and cons, we stock both the options or can order the right size crate for your pet.

Plastic Crate

Plastic crates need to have bolts that keep the two sides together and a locking mechanism on the gate

Pros

Plastic crates are light, durable and can disassemble for easier storage once your furfriend has arrived at your new home

Cons

Plastic crates are a bit more expensive and only come in set sizes.

Some dogs might not fit into a plastic crate for their breed according to the manufacturer and you might have to take a bigger size plastic crate and this will make your airfreight costs more as it is determined on the volumetric weight (size) of the crate your pet is travelling in

Wooden Crates

Wooden crates need to have a fumigation stamp on them from a registered facility to say that the wood has been treated for mites and bugs

Pros

Woodend crates can be custom built to fit the right size for your pet if they are a mixed breed or odd size that aren't suitable for plastic crates and they can be a bit cheaper than plastic crates

Cons

Wooden crates can be heavy and bulky which makes them hard to store without taking up too much space. The also tend to rot or attract insects if stored outdoors in the wind and weather, so a wooden crate will most likely be a once off use if not stored properly. Some airline overseas don't approve wooden crates for export even if the pet arrived in that country with the crate
