We have a well-equipped grooming facility with qualified, experienced staff and can accommodate all your grooming needs. We offer baths, grooming, styling and breed cuts, scissor trims and special/custom styling.
Please note that it may not be possible to obtain uniform results when scissor trimming a pet. Similarly, our groomers will do their best to accurately interpret and achieve any custom styling requests, please feel free to bring along photos to show us what you’d like.
We do a thorough pre-groom check to establish whether there are existing wounds, lumps and moles, as well as to determine the condition of the coat. Should we notice any abnormalities that would either delay or prevent us from grooming, we will be in contact with you to discuss a way forward.
We pride ourselves on our co-operative handling techniques of the pets in our care. Our groomers have all been trained to read canine body language effectively, so if we are worried about the stress levels of your beloved pet, we will stop the grooming and communicate with you regarding alternative strategies. If you are aware or suspect that your pet is fearful of grooming, please reach out to us: our resident veterinary behaviour expert, Dr Quixi Sonntag, will be glad to advise on possible solutions and work with you on a support plan for your pet. The Akira Animal Hospital (independent clinic on site) can administer injectable sedation for pets during grooming should you require this service. Please enquire with them directly regarding the sedation process and costs.

| EXTRAS | Parasite treatments can be purchased at the Akira Vet Shop on site. Please ask your vet about advice on using these products in conjunction with grooming (many of these products must be administered several days before or after grooming). Our groomers will be happy to brush your pet’s teeth if they are regularly brushed at home, please bring along your brush and paste. We recommend regular veterinary dental care for all pets, please chat to your vet if you have any concerns regarding dirty teeth or foul breath. We also accommodate medicated bathing for the treatment of skin conditions/allergies, please enquire with reception should you require this service. |
